President Vladimir Putin approved a new national project "Space" with total funding:
— 2.2 trillion ₽ — in 2026-2030
— over 5 trillion ₽ — until 2036
The project includes eight federal areas, including:
"Satellite communications and Earth observation" — 301.9 billion ₽ (until 2030), 1.03 trillion ₽ (until 2036)
"Navigation and time" — 139.1 billion ₽ / 381 billion ₽
"Manned spaceflight" — 584.6 billion ₽ / 998.2 billion ₽
"Sovereign access to space" — 280.3 billion ₽ / 810.1 billion ₽
"Space Science" — 228.7 billion ₽ / 669.7 billion ₽
The goal is to attract business:
"Roscosmos" intends to increase the share of private investment from 5% (2024) to 35% (2034) and take 28% of the global launch services market. This is possible due to:
transfer of enterprise shares to private companies,
reducing the cost of launches by more than 2 times.
