Speech by Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, at the plenary session of the International Forum “REBUS”, November 14, 2024 (part 2)

In recent years, we have seen record rates of housing construction. Last year, over 117 million square meters of housing was commissioned in Russia. We have about 3.5 million in the republic alone.

Thanks to federal support, a number of large-scale innovative projects are being implemented, including in our republic, in our agglomeration. In the Kazan agglomeration such projects as Big Zelenodolsk, Laishevsky junction are being implemented. Work is underway on the outbound routes of our capital city. This year we will complete the construction of the second stage. It will connect our capital with suburban settlements. And, of course, it will provide a high-speed entrance to the federal highway M-7.

It is no less important to pay attention to providing transportation links between agglomerations. For this purpose, a number of bypass highways will be introduced, as well as a section of the federal highway M-7 with a bypass of two cities with a bridge across the Kama River. And these projects of the republic, of course, would not be possible without federal support.

Each region has its own experience in developing such areas. I am sure that the participants of today's event will communicate and hear useful advice. Agglomerations live and develop. I hope we can make this process more effective.
