As part of preparations for the REBUS International Forum to be held in Kazan this summer, an important working meeting was held with Anatoly Kurmanov, Chairman of the Expert Council of the ANO Smart City Competence Centre (departmental project of the Ministry of Construction of Russia).
The representative of the organisation confirmed his active participation in the event: he will moderate the plenary session of the forum, as well as lead two thematic tracks: ‘Digital Vertical in Construction’ (with a focus on connecting municipalities, without which it is impossible to achieve national goals) and ‘Barriers to Digitalisation in Municipalities’ (including the presentation of best municipal practices).
The meeting was also attended by Olesya Baltusova, Assistant to Raisa of the Republic of Tatarstan, Programme Director of REBUS and Maria Yashenkova, member of the Forum's organising committee.
Key decisions: priority to live discussions, brainstorming and battles before presentations; selection of regions with advanced expertise for participation (different types of MOs), involvement of winners of the future Russian contest of best municipal practices, importance of strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Digital Economy (valuable experience of Tatarstan in this will be presented).
The parties considered the possibility of participation of international experts from the UAE and China. Interesting cases were noted: the experience of the Centre for Urban Economy in Innopolis (especially on RDF) and Kazan's successes (winner of the Smart City award, creator of the digital twin).
The Forum will become a key platform for discussing the digitalisation of construction and urban economy at the municipal level.
